ACAT-Luxembourg \u2013 Action by Christians for the Abolition of Torture \u2013 is at the origin of the Healing of Memories Luxembourg association.   Michael Lapsley\u2019s first visit to Luxembourg, in 2008, was in response to an invitation from ACAT to mark the sixtieth anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and it gave rise to a friendship and to the partnership that now links the Institute for Healing of Memories and Luxembourg.<\/p>\n\n\n

The Partage Luxembourg Foundation has supported healing of memories work in Luxembourg since the outset.  It is currently cooperating in the project launched by the IHOM and Healing of Memories Luxembourg \u201cHealing of memories in Francophone Africa\u201d, which it has included in its 2022-2026 Framework Agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n

The Caritas Luxembourg Foundation has provided support on several occasions for projects organised by the IHOM and our group, in particular the publication of the Arabic edition of Michael Lapsley\u2019s memoir.<\/p>\n\n\n

Healing of Memories Luxembourg is cooperating with the Jesuit Refugee Service in Beirut with a view to organising a healing of memories workshop and facilitator training for participants from the region (this project was planned for 2020 and postponed because of the pandemic).<\/p>\n\n\n

With the help of ACAT France and some of its regional groups, we have been able to organise talks by Michael Lapsley in several towns in France as well as several healing of memories workshops.<\/p>\n\n\n

ACAT Benin is participating in the \u201cHealing of Memories in Francophone Africa\u201d training project currently being organised by the IHOM and Healing of Memories Luxembourg.  It will host the principal training sessions in Cotonou.<\/p>\n\n\n
